Dominion Arms Socom18 Disassembly Issue

Hello,

I'm not really familiar with the M14 platform but recently received a Socom18 from Canada Ammo. Now I didn't get a chance to familiarize myself with the rifle until today. I am unable to dissemble the rifle because the trigger group refuses to be removed after I pull up the trigger guard.

Is there a trick to doing this with the Socom18 because I didn't have a problem with field stripping a Garand before.

Some times they are stiff and need some gentle wiggling for a bit

I concur with Yomomma. It's probably not a good thing that it's a tight fit, which will likely loosen up a bit once you get her out.

Alright it finally came out, I was just afraid of damaging the trigger guard. Seems like it needed a lot more force than what I thought it did ... Thanks guys.

It makes it easier if you use a tool like an Allen wrench, screw driver, or in the field a bullet tip to pry the trigger guard out using the hole.
It expands the guard to make it unlatch easier.
Mine was tough to get back together as well. Just make sure the trigger group is in the grove it slides into before using too much force.
It should close.
