Dominion Arms tube fed 8.5" barrel shotgun question

Hi,
I want to know if I can put Remington 870 barrels on Dominion Arms (870 clone). Also does any one know what is the effective range for these shotgun. I want to use this as a backpack survival gun so I can shoot grouse and perhaps a deer with in 100 yards. Is it do able. Please let me know

Well, with an 8.5" barrel, your sight radius is more or less equivalent to a long-ish barrel pistol. Good luck with the whole deer at 100 yards thing (I would strongly advise against this. Your odds of an ethical kill are not great with such a short barrel. Unless you're a ####ing rockstar with a shotgun).

I'm fairly sure the DA Grizzlys (The 870 clones) are compatible with Rem 870 barrels.

If you have a Griz 8.5 I'm going to say you can't put a longer 870 barrel on it as the mag tube will be too short .

what about the 12" barrel one. Is that compatible with 870 barrels.

The 12.5 " model is compatible with longer barrels but I've found Remington barrels don't index the same as Chinese barrels. It's close and some people don't seem to notice or care but it's better in my opinion to run Chinese barrels on Chinese actions.

In BC barrels need to be over 12.5" to hunt with according to our regulations.

I've had no issue with factory Remington 18" barrel on my Griz receiver .
I did have a NEA 14" heavy barrel that would not fit the Griz but fit my Remington receiver

I'm sure it works, but I'm also pretty sure it's not indexed correctly..... most people can't tell and the fact that it goes bang when the trigger is pulled and shells eject and load is all that matters.

305mm is the minimum length of barrel you can hunt with in BC according to the current synopsis, so just over 12". 12.0079", so a 12.5" grizzly is good to go.
