Hey guys, I am interested in the 12.5" Grizzly 12 gauge by Dominion.

I prefer the old school wood stock and fore end instead vs. tactical Magpul style.

Can I use the wood for an 870 on the Grizz?

The stock seems straight forward but the Fore end dimension may or may not fit the shorter barrel?

Any links to a previous similar build or any direction would be appreciated as always.

Thanks guys.

I did the exact thing to my 12.5 Grizzly. The stock fits fine, but the forend opening was to small to slide on the mag tube. I had to wrap sandpaper around a dowel and sand the inside on the forend till it would fit over the tube.

Is there a good chance I could find a stock/fore end combo used for sale? I am guessing someone has ditched the wood for some Magpul furniture?

Any ideas where to start looking, seems pricey to do it with brand new rem parts maybe get a deal on some used ones.

Did mine up with the wood off an old security express that someone was tacti-cooling. The wood was really beat up (the security express was from a Brinks surplus sale, so it had been knocked around in a truck clamp for a couple decades). I stripped the wood with mineral spirits, then re-finished "in the clear" with Tung Oil, which gave the wood a light, mottled and bruised appearance.

The stock fit without issue, but the forend was a bit tight. Still, I was able to tap it onto the slide tube with a rubber mallet without having to sand out the interior. Just a bit snugger than normal, is all.

I've put a LOT of ammo through it since this pick. The wood has darkened a bit (Tung Oil will do that over time), and it has a ton of character while feeling great in the hand.

EE is definitely one of the best places for wood furniture. I've been tempted to buy a few nice sets because of how cheap they were. Like other users, I had to sand down the inside of the forend on the side of caution. I really didn't want to chance splitting the wood tapping it in as it was TIGHT.
