Hi Guys,

Been tempted on one of these for quite some time now and about ready to pull the trigger, my one big concern is... is the mag fed version about as reliable as the standard tube mag version? I know they don't like the 3" shells, but for 2 3/4 shells, would the mag fed have comparable reliability, or is the "add-on" resulting in any less reliability (feeding mostly I guess)?

Thanks
Eric

I haven't had any problems with my tube fed, but i have heard some of the mag feds can be a little hit or miss.

I have a tube fed, buddy has a mag fed. The reliability thing I think is more about the ammo with the mag, whereas I can feed anything into the tube and have never once had a failure of any kind. Once you get the ammo down with the mag though you're golden.

Personally I prefer the tube, but to each their own. Those mag Feds are awesome and they look badass. Mine is a camp/hike/needs to function gun though, so it has to work every single time. Period. So tube it is.

You can't really make a wrong choice here though man, they're both awesome

I have both.
The tube fed needed a chamber polish and a better follower (S&J) to run 100%. I also polished the bolt and hit the action bars with a file to make it smooth.

The Mag fed needed a slight chamfer on the lug on the bottom of the bolt and 1 coil removed from the spring on the followers. I would like to find a stronger ejection spring as it likes to stovepipe.

That being said I have probably 3 times the amount of rounds through the Mag then the tube. And for quicker reloads the Mag always wins.

Tube is a DA 12.5 and the Mag is a Norc YJ12-2.
