Hi all,
Can you all check something on your guns please?

1) Ensure gun is unloaded
2) Check again to verify the gun is unloaded

3) Cycle action, pull trigger AND HOLD TRIGGER TO REAR
4) Cycle action again with trigger held to rear
5) Release trigger forward and then re-pull trigger.

QUESTION: When you are doing step 4 with the trigger held to the rear does the trigger move backward a bit more when the action is opened completely?

Appreciate the answers.
Cheers

Yes. It might move 1/16 or 1/32, heck.... maybe less, but it does move...

Yes Ike, the movement is seperate from the initial pull of the trigger. You've got me curious as to why your concerned about it? What's the issue? As far as I can tell, the gun's trigger group is perfectly fine???

Cheers

Hi all,
Not trying to get anyone worried I just want to see if mine is the same as all the other Dominions. It is definitely different than on any of my 870s which have no secondary movement when cycling so I expect it is just roughness in the trigger parts but want to be sure it is standard before I start smoothing things.

Cheers

I took a really good look at the trigger group operation and it looks like some grittiness and binding of the left side connector. A bunch of shooting should wear it in fine.
Again I am not saying anything negative about the gun, I am impressed with it so far.
Cheers

I just fiddled with the trigger as asked. I find nothing unusual about mine. Resets every time. I think you should put about 100 shells through it and call me in the morning.

Now THAT'S good advice!!! Here Here!!!

OK it appears that my trigger is more pronounced than others. It has a distinctive binding in the left trigger connector that happens every time. Every so often it prevents the trigger reset and doesn't allow the hammer to ####.

I've already cycled the action with dry firing at least 100 times and this more than just a bit of grittiness. Again I am not saying anything bad about the guns, just trying to get an idea of the machining level in the trigger groups.

I will work it out, going to try to get to the 'range' today for a bit.
Thanks for the input.

Cheers

After disassembling the trigger group it is just really rough engagement between the sear and the connector, so much that it makes it feel like two distinct stages. Simple issue with a simple fix.

Hi all,

It looks like I definitely got a bad trigger group, glad to hear I am the only one who has run into the same problem.

I ran over a hundred dummy rounds through the gun and regularly have the action fail to reset both the trigger and hammer. (It is not cleaning up or working itself in with use). To top it off every so often I am getting a slam fire....not what I want on a Remington clone.
I put in a trigger group from one of my 870s and all is well.

I already had spoken with CanAm and he will make things right so I am not worried, I just wanted to bring it up and stresss the importance of a safety check and function check of any new firearm before taking it out shooting.

Cheers

Slam fire, as in you'd have a shell fire afer pumping the action? Thats scary :runaway:

If it were an Ithaca I'd be happy ;) not on a Rem clone though. I was tempted to fix it myself but on an unfired gun it's easier (and less liability on me) to have CanAm deal with it
cheers
