so why did the system not give me a surplus tag off the bat instead of me waiting for the 15 to wait and hope I get one . I think there pissed that I shot 7 moose in 7 years.. the co was upset that we took 4 moose out of the area we hunted last year and said they supply tags with a high ratio of failures. met him last year after moose during deer and he wanted to know how we do it for moose then came back to camp and inspected all the deer hanging .I must be on the chit list .so I guess I'm going 20 hours north for my moose or I may just go after a calf. problem is my family loves the meat and it's what we eat most the winter except when ice fishing.deer are getting expensive at 42 dollars a tag ,if I don't get a surplus then calf it is

There are extra tags available that must be applied for by phone (1-800-363-3730) on August 15 between 5pm and 9:30pm.
Bull tags - 1A, 1C, 2, 6, 14, 15B, 16A, 16C, 17, 18A, 18B, 21A, 25
Cow tags - 1A, 1C, 2, 14, 15B, 16A, 16C, 17, 18A, 18B, 21A, 25
The part I don't understand is if these are only issued to people who were successful in the draw or whether they will be issued to anyone with a licence. The other question I have is do you apply for an extra tag in the WMU where one was successful or can you apply in an all together different WMU.
Some of this stuff can be very confusing for a newbie.

bros there available to anyone with a tag purchase and once you get through the lines iff then they tell you what is left available, this does not make you into pool two if your in pool 1 so your good to go as a pool one member next year. I got a few surplus tags over the years just didn't understand why I did not get a tag if they are surplus.ah well computers..
