Don't have luck on getting my licence

My application of both non-restricted and restricted PAL had been received by the RCMP firearm program office on the fifth day of March, and then I did not hear a word from them.

After more than four months of waiting, they finally finished the process and have my licence card issued on July 16th, but I had not received it yet.

I don't know on avg. how much time it takes to mail to the applicant after they issue the card, but I think more than three weeks of waiting is too long. I have read some of the thread here, it seems usually 10 days of waiting is normal.

Any advise that what I should do? They told me I have to wait six weeks before they can make a new one and mail me. This is just ridiculous!!!

I was told expect 4 weeks for licence delivery when I got off the phone with an Ontario CFO.

So I was able to get my PAL number to begin ordering online since the wait may be so long.

All depends on where you are. My Licence was issued on a Weds at 4.00pm. I had the Licence in the mail box the next Tues. So 4 days.

Well, i believe the CFC site says "if you haven't received your Licence within two weeks, phone in"

I was caught in the same situation. My PAL was mailed on the day before the mail strike last year. I never received it, and had to wait the 6 weeks before they would issue another one. I suspect my original is at the bottom of the St. Lawrence with several other mail bags........

Ouch! Man, that's crazy. I got an email in the second week of June that my card was issued, I went away for 3wks, got back and it was in my stack of unread mail. Hopefully it shows up within the next week for you.

they approved mine about 1 1/2 weeks ago, the web site says wait two weeks. I'm also in Coquitlam! wonder if they know where that is......

Question: doe's it come directly from Miramachi, or does it need to go to the BC CFO for processing first? I hope not, reading another thread it seems that the BC office is running a bit behind.
edit: they recieved my application on June 25

2nd edit: I didn't stop to get my mail on friday, so I walked down today (aug 6) and it's here. Correct and complete too. So from the time they signed for my application, to last friday when it arrived in my post box, 40 days. It might have been less but one of my witnesses was on holidays so it probably took a week or so longer. the attached letter with my licence is from Miramichi, but the back of my licence says issued by the B.C. CFO.

Funny thing though, my wife's application was in the same envelope, and I know that the witnesses have called, but her licence has not arrived yet. maybe this week? she has a different last name, so it might be alphabetical.

if you follow similar threads, the wait times are all over the place- no rhyme or reason- it's just like if someone goes off to lunch or vacation and nobody covers, or passes the file( yes they still use paper files- i've seen it) to someone down the hall and it gets "lost" along the way- i've had a reg. certificate that was supposedly mailed in the xmas rush show up TWO YEARS later- i have the date stamp on that one- and i've been certified since 75, so it's not like i'm a newbie or something
