Hey guys I am wondering what models of double action revolvers come in .45lc Im looking for something stainless too. Does, or did the ruger redhawk ever come in .45lc? I can't seem to find any for sale anywhere. There is the option of the super redhawk in .454 casull... but thats getting to be pricy, and quite large, and imho ugly, and I would probably never shoot .454 casull.

Maby I should just be hapy with my blackhawk in .45lc.

The S&W 625 comes in .45 Colt and it's SS. Comes with a 5" barrel. You could order one from your local shop if their distributor has one. I suspect you're looking at about a grand for one. Epp's is listing a Smith Custom Shop 625 in .45 ACP for $1299. OUCH!
You can shoot .45 Colt out of a .454 Casull, but you're right it's a friggin big revolver. However, the grips are exactly the same as the grips on a GP100.
Shooter's Choice in Waterloo, Ont is listing a Redhawk in .45 Colt with a 7.5" barrel for $810. $865 with rings. ed@shooterschoice.com

I know there is a Tracker model in .45lc. I think .454 Raging Bull 5in is worth a look too.

btw any reason in particular you want .45colt, why not a .44mag? just wondering...

Im luger, Im already setup in .45lc... pluss its allot cooler than the .44mag :) . With ruger level loads, the 45lc meets or even exceeds the 44mag, especaily in 300+grain loads. Would the 7-1/2" one have any more long range accuracy than the 5-1/2"?

They're so scarce that they're essentially nonexistant, but there's always the S&W 625 Hunter.

I did always shoot the venerable 45 Long Colt, one of the most interresting caliber ever. Here are some pics of one of my minty baby... a 5" barrel S&W Model 25-7 in .45 Colt Caliber, Model of 1989. The barrel AND the chambers are .452 diameter on this model so bullets does not fly over the place.;) I did only removed the original ugly Hogue rubber monogrip and installed Diamond Grips from Eagle Grips Co. It is a pleasure to shoot and it is not for sale... sorry.

HOWDY, The S/W 625 is a very nice good shooting piece in 5 inch stainless steel. Great for IDPA ,pin shoots .silloettes. (The speed loaders look HUGE ! )But may not be the ticket ifen you plan on a lot of 300 grain hot loads. I would look for the ruger redhawk for a big diet of hot loads.
Your opinion may vary

The S&W .45 Colt sixguns are made for moderate loads. For pin shooting the 625-5 in .45 ACP (I think, not sure) loaded with moon clips is best for fast reloads. In the Ruger like the Blackhawk and the Redhawk you can load much hotter loads than the .44 Magnum. For very hot .45 loads, buy and load a .454 Casull or a S&W .460.

Thats one sweet 45 you have there. Yeah that would probably be the way to go, and save my 45lc blackhawk to the ruger level loads, as follow up shots would be slow anyway. But there is no way I could justify the price of a new one, or con anyone out of there old one. Oh well, keep my eyes open.

How much do you want to spend?
