At was at the range yesturday firing my NP-29 (Norc 9mm 1911) when the strangest thing happened.

One shot I fired, not only ejected the spent round, but it somehow ejected the next live round in the mag, but still correctly chambered the round after that.

When I fired the shot before this happened, the recoil did feel funny. Almost like the gun cycled slower . . . or twice. This sensation was naturally a red flag, so I stopped firing to inspect the gun. I was surprised to find a round chambered and ready to go.

It's funny cause I somehow caught eyeshot of that unfired round ejecting and had to double take.

I only ever fire reloads and this was not exception. I was using 127g bullets a buddie cast for me, and whereas the gun has run 100% with my other reloads using different bullets, this bullet is the only one in which the resulting reloads would give me stove pipes. It's a short bullet that seats a lower then normal OAL, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. This load also once stovepiped my M&P9, which is about the only legit failure I've had with that gun. That bullet leads too, don't think I'll be getting more. 3.7g Bullzeye, autodisk, turret press.

Lol, yeah, I've had this happen with a 9mm Colt Commander. Your magazine feed lips have spread and are allowing the round to eject from the mag. Try this, not often because you can damage your ejector, load a full mag and with the slide locked back slam it in the mag well. Chances are the mag will eject a number of rounds, maybe all, out the ejection port.
My Commander would seem to function fine but I couldn't figure out why a mag I was sure was full (9 rounds) when I put it in the gun fired only 4 or 5 rounds flawlessly and then locked back empty. I tried it a second time with a mag I double checked was full and repeated the process, again it locked back on an empty mag after 5 rounds. That's when I locked the slide open and rammed in a full mag....and watched all 9 rounds arc gracefully out the ejection port.

Well, I gave it a try and no go. Seems fine in that respect. So far this has only happened the once. Maybe it'll happen more.
I was mid mag when it happened.

I've only had the gun a month or so, has less then 600 rounds thru' it, can't see it taking on wear like that yet.

I do figure it was something like that, a round just coming loose from the mag. Suppose for now, I'll call it a fluke.

In other news, when I do slam in a mag, the slide will release and load a round.

I had a savage .22 mag get bent on on me, and after straightening it out, and loading 10 rounds into it, it spat out all 10 in a fairly spectacular rainbow...

I had a (name brand) 1911 mag twist when I pulled it from the mag pouch once (bad technique knows no limits) and it did a similar thing - looks pretty cool in the basement, wouldn't be so hot in the real world.
