I almost fell over myself when I spotted these copies of DBJ in a used book store this morning! :dancingbanana:

The shop owner said he almost turned them down as he feared they'd never move, let alone sell in one day. Sometimes all is good in the world :)

I have subscribed for quite some time, have a stack of them.
Articles are sometimes a bit overdone, but lots of good information on fine guns.

I have been subscribing for some time. Have all but three issues from the second year. As someone else mentioned, sometimes the articles are a bit over the top but reading all the issues is an advanced course on SxS shotguns and rifles.

Consider me lost in envy. I thought that stopped publishing years ago, guess it was just the leftist city I visit not having stores that stock them.

As a book collector and accused book hoarder, may I ask what the OP paid for the back issues?

Still stocked in our local rag shop... though I don't know who buys it in this small town. I've flipped through a few times but pretty much everything is 'out of reach'. Oddly, the same shop dropped Upland Almanac...

You can buy almost all original issues from the publisher. Four issues a year. Those since 2000 tend to be around $10 - $20 USD. Older than that more expensive. Occasionally complete sets come up for sale on ebay and elsewhere and typically bring $1000 TO $1200 USD. If looking for a complete set, try to find one that has most of the yearly slipcovers as well as the Index and Reader Volumes 1 & 2. Slipcovers typically mean the issues will be in better condition and they aren't cheap to acquire. Roughly $17 apiece. At 25 years of issues, they add up. The Reader and Index Volumes make finding specific information or articles much much easier.

I was lucky a few years ago, while setting up at our local gunshow, a fellow I new well was selling his collection (roughly 30 or so books) I got it all for one C note!
Makes winter go by while dreaming of these pieces of history!
The info in the books have help me pick up guns that were over looked by others, as I had a little more info. In my head because of DGJ!
