Does anyone know where I should look, aside from on the equipment exchange, for double rifles for African big game?

Is there any particular dealer or website in Canada to find them or has anyone heard of or seen any good deals out there?

Is there a brand or style of double rifle you prefer? Ralph Martini appears to now be a distributor for Heym Rifles, and a Heym Best Quality Sidelock is probably the rifle you want, styled in the British tradition, available in .300 Winchester, .375 H&H and Flanged, .416 Rigby, .416/500, .450/400 NE 3" and 3.25", .470 NE, .500 NE, and .577 NE.

I saw that ad, and have gone back to look at it multiple times, that is a real nice looking rifle, if I had the money right now I'd have grabbed it already as I have been wanting a #1 for some time now and I like the look of the H models quite a bit.

Yup... it is a beauty, and amazingly soft shooting with max loads and 370/400 grain bullets.

After some research I bought the .500 Nitro Express double from Clayton at Prophet River. Very nice fit and finish for the money. Not a Westley Richards or a Rigby but a really nice rifle for the money.

Snaps nicely to the shoulder and well balanced. Hopefully it shoots well.

3rd nice gun I have bought from them this year. Amazing service from Prophet River. For a businessman in Toronto with little time but a big passion for hunting its nice to rely on a company like them to make sure you get quality stuff for a fair price with no BS.

They are also currently doing a turret for my Christensen Arms .26 Nosler for 8500 feet and checking it over to be ready for my upcoming hunt in Azerbaijan.

We don't have the range facilities around here to spend a ton of time shooting and nothing for long ranges unless you want to join leagues and clubs etc (which I don't have the time for unfortunately).
