Double set triggers

I am trying to lighten the front trigger on a set of mauser double set triggers. I thought if you had a mauser sear spring with less tension it may make a difference. Anyone ever work on making the front trigger pull lighter?

I have not changed any sear springs, just adjusted screw as per guntechs' advice.

The screw only lessens the set trigger let off. I trying to make the front trigger unset pull better.

It is not designed to be any better and safe. It is designed not to be used other than a quick pull at close range... it is designed to be set...


That's why so many replace the whole assembly with a good modern single stage trigger.

It wouldn't be my first choice for point blank dangerous game,rather for deliberate sniping when time is not of the essence...a surgical poke.......I have a set on a BRNO 21 7x57......Harold

My gun is also a model 21 Brno. There was an old gunsmith that has passed that had some way of making the front trigger pull lighter without setting it. I thought perhaps he did something to the sear spring. I gave that gun to one of my sons. We took it apart to have a look and I can not see anything different. The trigger pull is still about 5 pounds but a lot better than 10.

Canjar made a 3 lever set trigger that is very nice either set or unset. And I like the ZZK single set triggers either way.
