Gave up hunting years ago and my shotguns are relegated to the Clays games. The Synthetic stock semis get the wet days and cleaned well afterwards. Worked to hard for the more expensive guns to subject them to the elements. I’ve seen several instances of swelled wood, cracks and discolouration of wood stocked guns from a day in heavy rain on a Sporting course.
