Hey guys, I have been shooting some double tap 7mm stw 160 accubond loads. They shoot sub moa in my rifle and was wondering if anybody knew what type of powder and primers they might be using. Being north of the border here creates problem`s to get any more. I still have some so I can pull a bullet and measure the charge but I doubt I would recognize the powder type.
Thanks for any replies

Sierra accuracy loads are a good starting point

For accuracy, I always work from Sierra's accuracy loads and then check what Lyman, Nosler and Hornady (in that order) have to say about the best reloading powders.

Sierra really a thing or two about accuracy and, up to now, it worked very well for 223 Rem, 243 Win, 308 Win and 270 WSM loads. (often Sierra accuracy loads use Federal match/magnum primers and Hodgdon Extreme powders).

I have retumbo and fed 215 primers on hand and I'll measure the oal of the factory rounds I have and see what I can do. The box says that their factory rounds are going 3305 out of a 26 inch tube, which I have. I haven't seen that velocity listed in any of my reloading books for a 160 grain bullet. The rifle is a factory sako 75 and the rounds fit in the clip. I was impressed because I was getting groups around and inch at 200 yards. Eagle eye, do you happen to remember how fast you were pushing them safely? The nosler recipe seems a bit conservative

I was getting 3300 ft/sec with 160 grainers in custom 7 STW with H870 powder 90 gr of it and very good groups but not even close with Sako 75 SS to those velocities.

My last STW was a build, with a Pac-Nor 27" tube, and Retumbo would get 3300+ in it with stellar accuracy. I would have to look up the exact charge, but it was around 86 grains or so. EE.
