Question for the doubles shooters what is your preferred POI setting if you are shooting an O/U? Would you like bottom barrel a bit high at say 70/30 and top flatter at 60/40 or ? My best doubles were shot with a 680 that I believe was 60/40 on both and have been struggling a bit with the new Blaser which I can change POI (that may be a bad thing). Just curious what far better doubles shooters than me think.:)

I’m not a major Doubles shooter, but being able to adjust the barrel convergence (same/different POI for each) will only mess with your mind.

Since your ‘best Doubles’ were shot with both barrels 60/40 — I’d say that’s your answer right there.
Make your Blaser shoot Doubles like your Beretta.

Love shooting doubles but by no means a pro best was a 46 anyway I shoot 16 singles with same gun (Browing 725 trap) and i just adjust how I float the second bird.
I'd set up your blazer like you Beretta. And practice

Would be pretty hard to tell the difference in a 60-40 POI and a 70-30 POI between the top and bottom IMO.

Personally a 90-10 for both barrels would be better IMO.

covering targets will make for a visual flinch.

takes time to shoot a new gun well sometimes.

these posts are great every time shooters get all wound up over chokes and point of impact and trigger pull my chance of winning increases
on doubles the first bird is broken right out of the trap house 30 ish yards you spot the muzzle and and shoot when target is focused on
the second bird is the one that may have to be fallowed and caught up to
light mod choke for first bird imp mod for second bird point of impact on first bird 50/50 second bird 60/40
i have watched trap shooters run doubles straight with a remington 1100 full choke no point of impact changes no choke changes
i have also watched shooters run doubles straight with standard old citories
if you want to be a contender in the shotgun shooting sports practice practise practise
that being said there are some advantages to the modern guns but if you are thinking u missed a bird because of your choke or your point of impact you are doomed before you even start

True enough about practice practice practice, I wish I could practice more but I shoot at a small club and we only do doubles ever now and again, but is fun to shoot.
Might get another automatic clay thrower to practice in a field on off days.

I didn’t think you could be straight and shoot a 1100.

Oh Dear!
I hope my question on chokes does not mean I'm getting all wound up over them. 😲

FWIW, the LM choke stays in the O barrel for 16 yds, and the IM is in the U barrel for Handicaps.
Doubles would be O, then U.
I do own a F, but that only ever gets installed for silly games like Annie Oakley when we're at the 30 yard line.

Yes, I own only these 3 chokes.

And, no, I never blame my choice of chokes for any misses.
It is always me. I know where the gun shoots.
If my clothing gets in the way – it is still me, because I could have chosen to wear something else that day.

Got a box from a LGS white flyers i think they where 40 something a box, missed out on when C.T. where doing liquidation on champion clays but it is what it is.
And I cringed when we paid $28 delivered for our White Flyers. At $40, our members are paying $1 less per round, than they can buy targets for.

I used to have a Beretta 682X that shot slightly high with the bottom barrel and flat for the top barrel. It was intentionally set up that way for trap doubles. I understood the theory behind the barrel regulation but I never did catch on to the set up very well.
My current trap gun shoots flat with both barrels and that works better for me.

ST100's are great guns but I haven't seen one in the last 20 years that wasn't heavily used to the point of being virtually worn out. I know they are rebuildable but since the replacement parts have to be hand fitted by someone that knows what they are doing. Also, I've seen more than one that have a recurring problem of having the ribs fall off.
That adjustable POI feature was popular thought
