i know i asked a lot of biginner questions in the past but i got one more.we shot doubles tonight and i shot a 42 but the left bird was falling faster than the right bird.about 20 yards short.can you enlighten me plese?
If one bird is falling quicker than the other when they came out fo the trap it isnt set right. It's not very oftern you can change a machine from singles to doubles and get proper flight from both without have to make some minor adjustments. If its a Pat Trap all that needs to be done is move the target guide finger in or out till they are flying even.

I shot a round of doubles today and only shot a 37. I was doing great up until posts 1 and 2 where I started shooting the right bird first and then the left (right handed shooter). I had a hell of a time getting that left bird on those two posts.......
Both birds should be the same height unless the problem is you are shooting too slow and by the time you shoot the second bird it is dropping and hard to hit!! Please advise if it is a machine problem or shooter error, if it is a machine problem, what type of machine is it? If it's a shooting problem with the second bird....speed up your first shot until you start missing as many first birds as you are second birds....then, with practice your scores should increase!!
You have to crank up the mainspring(bottom front of the machine) and centre the field ie: have someone stand on #2 position and some one on #4 pos.....the birds should be equally straight away....if not slide white tab on arm until they are.......if everything is centred and the one bird is still low; you may have some play in the arm and it may reguire service....oh; just one more thing; you are using it in #1 hole right?
