Down to the short strokes!

Interesting video about the AK400 which is changing to a short stroke gas piston with a two position gas regulator instead of long stroke gas operatiobn as used by all AK's up until this time. I guess the only long stroke still being made in larger quantities will be the IMI Galil and the Tavor if the AK is changed to a short stroke gas operation.

Being short stroke makes this AK no longer an AK. Which would be good for us if any of these dozens of variants would actually get a mil contract, and they'd actually start making them.

It is still a standard ak receiver with a cover. They just can't move past that design. It will never be rigid enough for an accurate rifle and optic mounting will always be an issue.
