I've narrowed it to essentially two choices for a scope for my F/TR rifle. Either the NF 12-42x56BR or the Sightron 10-50x60 SIII. Here's the pros and cons as I see them, any help would be appreciated.
Sightron
Pros
-cheaper than NF
-reports of good glass
-higher mag.
-lighter weight
Cons
-slightly higher mounting
-not as "proven", less of a reputation
Nightforce
Pros
-rock solid rep. very high quality
-glass/reliability excellent
-better reticules
Cons
-Price
-Weight
Can anyone attest to reasons why the NF is worth an extra $300? I've talked to Peter at Hirsch, and he speaks highly of both. The only bad thing I've read is that early on the SIII had some minor problems in a small handful of cases, but since then have been nothing but great.
