The Mechanical Recoil Rod Reducer System is a direct replacement for the stock recoil rod and does not change the stock configuration of the gun. This system works due to the multi spring implementation (three springs) that controls the functionality of the gun. The second and third springs which are contained within the rod controls the movement of the slide so it never rams in to the frame. The system also protects the firearm, reduces the recoil and improves the firing speed. Also accompanying particular models are two separate springs so the owner can fine-tune the weapon for his/her personal standards. All rod systems have the patented triple spring recoil reduction system. Some units are captured rod systems and some are not.

I used to own one, bought it direct (yes, shipped from Greece back then) back in 2010. It is well built and the service they provide is top notch (yes, shipping it to me from Greece LOL) but I felt it did nothing to reduce recoil. It is more of a shock buff action so it does change the recoil impulse but doesn't reduce it... hard to explain in words but I hope you get the picture.
