DPMS Panther Oracle A3 16"

The DPMS got me into the game.. well, sort of. I had my eyes on a Norc for awhile, and once I saw that cheap American ARs were available, I figured now was the time to buy. So I did some research. Most of what I read indicated that DPMS wasnt the best, but not the worst. Some people said they were amazing for the money, others said they were junk. Most people recommended paying a bit more to get something better. Most of what I read was American though, so the cost to "step up" isnt as high as Canada. The long and the short of it is, that for me it came down to the PSA Freedom at IRUNGUNS.ca or the M&P15 from Frontier Firearms, and I ended up getting the Palmetto. The Palmettos are sold out now, but Id recommend looking at the M&P15 currently on sale at Frontier for $799. They get a lot of praise and are well priced. If you have the extra $150, thats what I would do.

Thanks Nutz. I have a 14.5" Bushmaster that I'm very happy with, but I'm looking for a second AR, a 16", that I can take over the border...and just to have a second AR in the house (I know there's no need to explain or justify that here) :) I'm looking at the under-a-grand options...DPMS, NEA and S&W.

I just pulled the trigger on an Oracle from SFRC. Pun was definitely intended. I'll let ya know how I like it when I get it!

Got home from work today and Santa, I mean Canada post had been there!

Fit and finish is great. And about 200 rounds down the pipe now with no problems! I'm happy with it!
