DPMS Vented freefloat handguard or JP Ent. Modular handguard?

I'm thinking of converting one of my ARs into a precision rifle for sh!ts & giggles. If I do so, I'll be removing the quad rail for a smooth handguard.

Anyone use the DPMS vented freefloat handguard in your rifle? Is the JP version worth double the price of the DPMS?

Good to know. Thanks. Did more research and found out the DPMS does not have sling mount studs to attach a bipod and the whole handguard screws onto their barrel nut.

Rock River makes one that looks stock. Under $100 I believe at Brownells.

I've used two with great success. Great quality.

The Rock River is HEAVY. If you are cool with a heavy rifle (you might be with a precision rig) than the rock river should be cool.

I have a DPMS. Sling swivel studs can be added with a drill. A bit getto but it works.

Agreed. I do like the bone stock look of the Rock River. Its very well made too.

As I understand, the Rock River is meant for the US National matches were rifles have to have the appearance of stick M16s....but can have whatever crazy assessment impractical gizmos they want and they weight as much as many crew served weapons.
