Whats the next size up from factory, to fix stripped threads on a 10/22 receiver to mount a scope base?

Lodi is right , oversize 6x48 is the way to go as a first step.
The size is actually .146 x 48 , I just bought the taps and a dozen Fillister head screws from Brownells.
Worked great, cost me 80 for the 2 taps and screws.
I didn't have to drill the hole out either.
Was worth it.

Fastenall (at least 6 months ago in BC) doesn't carry taps that small, 6/48 is a specialty size specific to gunsmithing I believe. They'll have the 8/40, but not the 6/48. I had to order mine through reliable gun in Vancouver after I tried fastenall. Reliable was quick... Cheap shipping too. Being in Ontario Epps is who I'd call.
