So I have a new rifle on the way to me - a Cimarron 1873 Sporting - and I want to fit a set of Marble Arms peep sights to the tang. Problem is that, unlike the Winchester, the Cimarron version of this rifle only has the lower screw on the tang so the top mounting point would need to be drilled and tapped.
My question is: how hard is this to do and should it really be done by a gunsmith?
If any of you guys have done this and can offer any advice it would be much appreciated.
