I am wondering if a 12 guage barrel of remington 58 will fit on a 12 guage remington 878?
There are more 58's produced and should be easier to find a replacement barrel.

Currently this 878 has a 870 barrel. It shots, but only single shot.

UPDATE
I have been told that 2 ea of 1/8" holes can be drilled in the 870 barrel to make the 878 function as a semi
If anyone has a picture of a 878 barrel ports or measurements of the gas ports locations please e-mail at brian_welton@hotmail.com
Any information would be helpful to get this single shot turned back into a workable semi.

Did some recent reading re the 878 (because there is/was one for sale)

They are not a super strong setup. You will kill them in short order with magnum shells. Not made for extensive shooting. What shooting you do should be with lighter shells.

If you continue to use the 870 barrel, undrilled, and use it as a single shot, it will probably last forever.
