Looking for anyone with experience using a drum mag with the ruger pcc? Want to pick one up but not sure how reliability and compatibility are. Looking at the D-50 but don't see a lot on this being used with the Ruger PCC.

Please don't mention the "but they're pinned to 5 rounds..." not a concern for me.

Some considering the purchase of a PCC would like to use it for PCC. For such purposes, limited-to-5 stick magazines might feed better, handle better, and carry better than might limited-to-5 drums.

3 Glock OEM 10/33 round mags would cost about the same, take up far less space on the shelf, in your pack, or on your kit, function flawlessly, and bring 30/99 rounds for the cost of 1 drum mag. I'm not saying don't get one if you like them, just I prefer the fun sticks.

there's an American video on YouTube specifically on drums vs sticks for USPSA PCC matches
bottom line, drums are mostly a cosmetic accessory
the weight of a fully loaded drum causes the PCC to sway during fast transitions between targets
carrying and changing drums is PITA

during WW2, the Soviets initially deployed their PPSh-41 with drum mags, but switched to sticks as soon as they could

I think that will be the plan. I already have a couple, I'll add to it. The "pin" on the drum mag was not my concern, however the issues with reliability and impact on the pcc does influence the buy. Thanks
