Please please buy the gsg 110 drum. The 50 round drum has many issues.
Yes I know both have issues and some are fine. However the gsg mag IMO is better.
Fyi size can be an issue using rests.
I have the Black Dog 50 round drum and also the 110 round GSG Drum. Both work ok in my SR-22, but the GSG drum was much easier to get working (had to do some filing/sanding of the mag insert to make it fit properly in the SR-22). The Black Dog works ok now, but I had to tune the feed lips a bit and can only use 40gr RN profile ammo. The GSG also has metal feed lips vs the plastic in the Black Dog drum, so long term the GSG will hold up better. When the feed lips wear out in the Black Dog, I'm expecting there to be a lot of feed jams.
As far as the practicality of either of these drums, for me it's really just a novelty that kind of wears off pretty quick. The Black Dog drum is not a bad size, but the GSG is bigger and can interfere a bit with your left arm/fore-end grip. Plus the SR-22 is not that light to begin with, when you add a fully loaded GSG drum, it's a fair workout for your arms and takes a long time to use up a full drum unless you are in spray mode. Kind of fun once in a while, but wasteful in ammo. Also, loading these drums can be a little finicky and takes a while. With the 25 round Butler Creek mags, it's easier and faster to hand load and you have the option to use a speed loader if you want. So the drum mags are nice to have, but I'll save them for when the zombie gophers attack
Wait for the people to tell you to lift more weights!!!!
Im in the camp that likes low weight guns.
A 7-9lb semi auto is just silly, imo.
Thats why I like the 15-22 so much.
If it wasnt restricted, Im sure the numbers would be way up.
I've had the Promag 50rd, Black Dog 50rd, and the GSG 110rd. The GSG preforms the best by a huge margin. The Promag was complete garbage, the Black Dog worked okay, but never had a 50rd usage without a problem. The GSG has been used many times without any problems. The worst part is your trigger finger getting tired from a 110rd dump, ha.

Didn't see you had a scope mounted until I saw this thread on my computer at home. If you are going for accurate groups while shooting a drum (especially the GSG), you may want to think of using a bipod. Think of the hordes of zombie gophers you could take out with that setup
