Dry fire Norinco 14" 870 clone?

Yes.
I see no problem with de-cocking it by dry-firing it. However, I wouldn't dry-fire it in rapid dry-fire sessions (unless the firing pins are interchangeable with the 870 ones - just incase) :D

BTW, I'd like to know what parts are interchangeable with the Remington version? All of them?? That's be really cool if that were the case.

All parts are interchangeable with the 870. I've put an 870 trigger group in the norinco, and it worked no problem. Firing pin, bolt, all of them are interchangeable.

The only issue is with some of the Norinco models (24"?), the barrel band/mag tube is in a different spot, so Rem barrels won't work on some Norincos.

Dry fire away!!!

Damn... that is so good to know. A little too late though; I wish I bought a Norinco instead :p

The finish is much nicer than the Express model. Oh well, live and learn.

:)

I'd take an American made Express over 10 Chinese clone guns...

You know, if we were talking 1911's I'd agree... the finish on a Kimber kicks Norinco's ass.

But... the finish on the 870Express is as poor a finish you can get on an american made firearm. The Norinco 870's look to be very nicely made from what I've seen in stores (I am talking about the receiver and tube).

I believe the Norinco's even have a nice cut on the top of the receiver don't they? The 870express looks like it was made with a bastard file and then painted black with a brush :D

However, if you are making that statement on principal of not supporting Chinese made products in general - I hope you have nothing else made in China either :p I'd too like to try and support that until China can raise the living standards for all their countrymen (but it's damn hard).

Do you really believe all that or are you only justifing the purchase of an inferior Chinese made gun?

I have an 870 Express.

I am saying if I could do it again... I'd get the Norinco since all of the parts are interchangeable with the US made 870. In building my current shotgun I will have onlmost replaced everything except for the receiver and mag tube.

The Receiver on a Norinco looks a lot nicer than the receiver on an 870 Express - go take a look for yourself if you don't believe me; it's not rocket science.

Obviously the Wingmaster, Marine Magnum and Police are way better than the Norinco. That is the point I was trying to make.

I own a 14 inch Norinco, and a 20 inch pre-improved Wingmaster. The Norinco cycles smoother. The finish is much better than my brother's Express.

The only deficiency I've found on mine is the origional ejector, which was frankly garbage. Casey also found that the Norinco rivit is actually smaller than the Remington part, so he had to bore it out to replace it. Also, the forend tube is brazed in place, not welded.

Yeah I have a Norc 14 inch. I have swapped alot of parts over from an 870. Forened, extractor, tubes etc. Course its so easy to get a 14 inch Remington police these days right? The base gun is very well made. The only issue I found was that the forend tube assembly occasionally had varying diameters which would be a pain if your adding a new forend, like a speedfeed or surefire..otherwise no problem.

For all I know the Norinco's are better than a Remington Express, but being something of a traditionalist who prefers to support our ally and neighbour's production base over the country that's gearing up to crush us...it's a no brainer.
Now, I have owned several Expresses, and I was quite happy with them, especially for the price. What do I know about the Norincos? What I've read on here, which is that people have seen 2 out of 3 needing some tweeking and parts changing to work properly.

So it sounds to me. Some people buy a Norinco, then you replace all the parts except for the receiver and barrel with 870 parts. How's that workin for ya?

well its because some of us just wanted a 14 inch barrel and very solid high quality steel receiver. Where else can you get a 14 inch shottie nowadays?

What exactly is a 14" "shotty" used for anyway?

They shoot surprisingly well in matches, plus look uber cool...I had a Rem Police 14" for years.
The point that Rem 14" aren't easy to come by is true and a reasonable reason to buy other I suppose.

Chinas gearing up to crush us?

Paranoid people amuse me.

Please start a thread on this, so we may engage in tinfoil hat discussion on how china is a threat to western civilization.
