Thanks to all the organizers and volunteers who made today happen, a great and challenging shoot with a fantastic group of people. Thanks to Phat Eagle for all the work, and to Still alive for the course of fire, it was a well thought out course! Our squad consisted of 4-5 rookie shooters, and every one of us will be back for more, what a rush,,it was challenging enough to keep the veterans happy, but not overwhelming for us " first timers".
I am still mystified as to how putting a swinging hostage target can make me miss a set of plates that I have shot 200 times without a problem before today, lol, still shaking my head at that :)
If you haven't given this a try,,jump in,you definatly won't be disappointed!
A special shout out to the RO's, they took a handful of newbies to their first two gun match, and made us feel like vets with great instruction, patience and humour,,,you guys rock!!
Anyone with pics,,throw them up here!!

Glad you had fun, edgy!
I would like to give kudos to smelly pete, our MD, for his work in ensuring things went smoothly. He also helped with the stage designs. Apparently, he and I stumped ourselves on the long range stage!

And props to all our sponsors! Thanks for my shotgun CanAmmo!

And to edgy and his wife, for their generous contribution of kettle corn! We hope everyone went home tired but happy and well fed!

Keep an eye out for the next DSS Match sign up for TMSA! These matches sell out fast so be quick!

Hey Still alive: have you started your homework yet? lol!

Glad you guys had fun! One day I'll get out there. :)

How the hell did I forget Smelly Pete!! Big thanks to him also,,,unless he helped you design that long range stuff, lol,, there were some people cursing you guys :)

I designed it, he “ improved” it! He wanted to test his Trijicon 1-4 and I only had a red dot! I was cursing myself also!
You wanted to use my 6" squares @ 100 metres! I don't need to test my Trijicon, I just think everyone should have one:p
I thundered in hard on that stage...but looking at the score sheet, misery loves company:).

That was a bit of a long day, but the positive attitudes displayed by everyone at these events keeps everything flowing. An amazing sponsor table laid out (in no particular order) by CanadaAmmo, Poco Military Surplus, Wanstalls, Joint Force Tactical, Tiger Arms, DS Tactical and Reliable sure put a smile on everyone's face, as did the generous popcorn donations by True North Kettle Corn.
Let's see, highlights, highlights...the various methods utilised to drag the dummy (the "crotch carry" was a wonder to behold)...watching people imitate a crippled seal getting from urban prone to prone under the car (myself being no exception)...oh! Watching tactical rolling and a proper low crawl done under cover of the car prop as well...glancing at the cloudy sky in wonder for most of the day, as we were supposed to be in for a soaking, and we got away with just a heavy dew at the tail end...I really liked that reverse zig-zag stage, where you had to run 'round the first pistol shooting position with your rifle...yet another match that reinforces how much easier Practiscore makes scoring...the solid (long!) day's work once again put in by our RO's...and of course, the new tradition. One club's trash is another discipline's fluffy, slightly manky, treasure...

The sponsors here in the Lower Mainland have all be excellent. Really appreciate their help and makes our events really special for sure.

I'm glad you found the "new tradition" among the trash! We should make "That Guy!" kiss it before he/she gets the trophy and patch!

Oh yeah! Any pics??

Apparently I used the baby as a shield so I'm not much of a Saviour am I? A whole lot of fun was had that day and I just want to add my thanks to all the organizers and sponsoring vendors. What a fantastic group of enthusiasts.20180408_110505.jpg

Im hooked now!! Great times, and the effort put in by the MD and RO's , ARO's and volunteers is what makes it such a events! Kudos to all of them. Every person i saw and talked to was smiling and looked like they were having a great time.

Indeed they were ! The weather held out for the most part for us for the entire day however I recall the last stage on the long range where the antiquated old gutter system was dripping like a mofo and landing right on the back of my neck while I was shooting handgun for 20 rounds. Needless to say even my ass was pretty wet when I got done with that wonderful experience.

A few more pics!

And here is the one and only Still Alive dabbing to chase off deer so we can shoot on the rifle range!
