Duaghters first 25x25 on skeet field

Well I went to the Orillia Gun Club today for my weekly relaxation on the skeet field with my 17 year old daughter and a couple regulars I shoot with.
I had a great first round with the .410 and shot a 25x25. My daughter (Ali) shot a 21 good solid hits on some dirty targets in the wind. She shoots a 12ga. Browning Citori with Seminole short chamber tubes in 20ga.

Next round I get all the way to station 7 still straight and oops a low house sails away from me.

Well my girl is coming down to her last 7 target and still straight. She made no mistake and put her dad in his place with her first 25x25. Talk about stealing a guy's thunder !

She has had approx. three 24x25's last year including her first 24 (in her first competition) in the Ontario Provincial Jr. where she dropped the 25 target (option target) for the straight.

I'm a proud daddy every day of my girls but today is a extra special day. !

It doesn't get any better than shooting with your kids in my book. More than just a daughter a friend and shooting buddy !

My 11 yr. old shot 2 weeks ago for the first time also.

I hope this inspires other people to get their kids and nieces and nephews or grand kids out there.

Definitely something to be proud of! Congrats to her and you. Have fun getting your boy into these games too. That's got to be a lot of fun.

Combined with genetics and all the time Ali has spent at the Orillia Club, I wasn't too
surprised - but congratulations are due, none the less. A first straight is always a significant milestone. What did "Grandpa Jack" have to say ?

Koko83 : I should have said that my 11 yr. old is also another daughter. But you are correct it will be fun to bring her along.

Thanks for the kind words on the genetics ha ha ! You are correct about how much she has been at the club, she has been going there most Sundays her whole life actually.
As you know to us many of the people there are like family. People out side of the shooting sports can not realize how strong the ties of friendship can become in shooting sports.
I will call Grandpa Jack and tell him as he was not there.

There was a top lady shooter there that was very happy also. You know who.

I forgot to answer your question sorry. I asked her if she wanted her hat shot and she looked at me very oddly (even more than normal) and asked why. I told her it is a bit of a tradition in skeet shooting to have your hat shot after your first 25x25.

So yes she wanted it as a keep sake.

The rest of the squad did the deed as she threw it. It was well hit but still wearable. And she will wear it.

It's OK Rocky, Ali is now in the spotlight of a very talented upcoming shooter. You can just retire now before she really starts embarrassing you at the club. I don't have to worry about being embarrassed at all, I know she can kick my a$$:p. I may have a chance if she's having an off day. I must say that's her teacher can hold his own though.;)
 
SBound : we will be there for sure ! Were going to be doing some registered shoots this year again. She's makin her old dad come out to shoot also.
