A few years back me, my mom and dad were out duck hunting with a small group of friends. All the latest gear was in camp along with some nice pump shotguns , a couple of side by sides and some nice auto loaders.This was back in the day when lead was still user friendly on geese and ducks.
After a nice campfire feast the liquid entertainment was taken out of the cooler for the enjoyment of the adults. When it came time the next morning to go get some ducks everyone was hung over a bit and attention spans were a little off. Light started to show and all parties shuffled off to the local ducky pond chewing on aspirin and washing it down with coffee. Mom had a nice side by side 12 gauge and we both belly crawled along the ground so she could get a shot at the ducks in the little pond. We spied two mallards and mom stuck the shotgun between some grass for the shot...blam...blam. After the water and lead stopped flying we looked to see how many duckies we got.
You got it....two nice mallard decoys floating upside down and everyone laughing. That was it for the ducks that morning because no one could stop laughing long enough for more ducks to land.
