I grew up down there and hunted Lake O lots around Jordan Harbour and west of there. My buddies still hunt there to this day along the shorelines west of Jordan. There are bylaws in this province that allow for road right of ways and that shoreline is lined with twp owned roads, not private! Folks can pretend to to own to the waters edge but cant by law in this province! Waters( to the high mark) are owned by the crown, had discussion with many a Niagara Regional and now North Bay City Police where I currently reside. Get the facts from the twp office , ask for maps showing private and public lands and bylaws for shooting and keep them with you, saves many a long winded argument pulling them things out!! Most cops do not know the shooting or hunting bylaws, PERIOD!! There are also draw areas along the old welland canal between St.Kitts and Welland, call the game and fish ass'n, they will tell you where they are. And there are areas in the Grand River up from Dunnville you can hunt too, I am sure there is plenty of shooting if youre willing to do some research. Also I know a few guys who hunt from boats with blinds off the east side of the welland canal. Unless the by-laws have changed since I last hunted there, around 2000, you had to be in the water 100 yards from shore to discharge a firearm along the St.Catharines shoreline. Just a few ideas to run with. But all that being said, IMO that part of the province sucks royally, moved north at 18 out of school and will never go back again for love nor money!!
