dumb question about flip-up sights

How do I know that two different sights will actually line up with one another?

I have an ARMS#40 rear, and will soon have a 10" MI rail to which attach a front folding sight. The one I ordered is the MCTAR-FFR also from Midwest Industries.

My concern now is the height of the front sight. I saw another member's AR15 pics and he has the #40 rear and what looks to be the MCTAR-FFR front, but his front is mounted lower on the railed gas block, whereas mine will be mounted on a continious fore-arm rail, and therefore sit a good half inch higher than his.

Am I missing something here? Mounted at the same level, will my #40 flipup work with the MCTAR-FFR?

Thanks

They should line up because they are all to the same specs. As you are mounting on the handguard, you have to be sure you get a HANDGUARD mounted front sight, and not gas block mounted.

That was a dumb question. :D

they should line up in your application...
the MCTAR-FFR you ordered is the rail model.

I have the MCTAR-FFG model (gas block) that I use on my AR. It's mounted on my gas block. Lines up with my ARMS 40L rear sight. I had an MCTAR-FFR and it is shorter for mounting directly on the rail.
