Would a Gen4 G17 recoil spring assembly in a Gen4 G22 cause cycling issues? Specifically failure to feed, the slide staying locked open after firing a round?

Use the correct parts for each pistol, 40 models and 9 models do have differences.

Yeah it wasn't intentional, I bought the G22 with a conversion barrel and recoil spring. The seller mixed up the numbers indicating what spring goes with what. I had issues with cycling and looked into things. I found that the numbers 014 on the spring was for a 40 and not 9 as was told to me. Basically I sold the 9mm barrel with the 40 spring. So I'm stuck with the 9mm spring numbered 042. I'm trying to contact the fellow I sold it to so we can swap.

Hey Rayzorloo,
Is this the same problem with your FTF issues on the gun? Or another one?
I use a Lone Wolf 9mm barrel along with the normal .40 on my 22 and the factory .40 recoil spring works with both. Not had a slide lock back, FTF or FTE so far. Mine’s a Gen 3 as I believe is yours?

Hey, yes this is the same gun/issue I'm trying to figure out. Mine is a Gen4 and the recoil spring is marked as a 9mm. If I had a 40 recoil spring on the 9 I may be fine but maybe the 9 recoil spring not quite strong enough to cycle a 40 round? I shot my reloads on it with a load of TG 4.4 and a 180gr bullet. Sort of a mid range load up.

The recoil spring assembly is different between a Gen 3 and 4. Did you have any luck finding the .40 spring? I was sent what I believe to be a Gen4 recoil spring assembly with my Gen3 22 as it doesn’t fit my gun but I don’t own a Gen 4 to confirm. I can send it to you as it’s surplus to my needs. PM me if you want it to try and hopefully solve your issue.

If your slide locks back, I would assume the 9mm spring would have sufficient power to drive it that far?

Hey thanks for the offer, I was able to track down the fellow I sold it to but haven't heard anything back yet from him. I would like to take you up on the offer, how much did you want for it?

Nothing. You cover shipping! Like I said, not even sure it'll fit or work and I don't need it. For all I know, the spring may not even be for a Glock or a .40. The guy I bought it from never got back to me as to what it actually fit.
Although based on what I can tell, it very much looks correct.
