What's the difference between a 92fs, a 92 Brigadier and a 92 Vertec? I assume that INOX is just the finish. Thanks in advance.

The Brigadier has a heavier slide than the plain 92 and the Vertec has a different shaped, smaller grip with a straight backstrap. Then there are Elite models of both 92 and vertec with different sights and decocker only. It all gets confusing and I find it easier to say Glock 17 please.

Is the Taurus version any good?
I just got a Taurus revolver and I love it, it’s just beautiful...who know mayeb one day I'll get the PT92/99 as well :)

I have a ‘regular’ 92FS Inox very nice gun for sure. If I’d get another one it’d be the Brigadier version; with the Inox (stainless) you get a wrap around rubber grips. I also believe it would be more durable becouse of the 'reinforsed' slide design.

the heavier slide wasn't made to make the gun more reliable or last longer or any of that it was simply to provide more mass for the .40 cal round, and therefore to help absorb some of the recoil.
FS is standard slide, with decock/safety, Brig is the heavier slide, Vertec is the new frame style with no hump on the backstrap and a light rail up front, and a different slide (same weight roughly as the FS), with a dovetailed front sight (Brig has this as well, but FS is a fixed front sight).
A G model is decock only, no safety, and a D model is usually a slick slide with no Safety or decock, and normally a spurless hammer.

Slavex,

Yes the slide was made to reduce recoil, but the way they did it makes it stronger… if the slide would ever brake/crack (after a millions of rounds of course :) ) if would happen where the locking block is, and that’s exactly where the (main) difference between the slide of the regular 92Fs and the Brigadier is. That’s why I said it’s more reinforced….

Dustin you’re missing out.

Most of the Taurus copies of the Beretta also place their safety on the frame instead of the slide, which may or may not be an issue for you.
