Hi guys. I'm still planning my AR purchase and I know for a fact I don't want a handguard will a million rails all over it. In fact i'm looking for one that is cylindrical such as the one that comes on a remington r-15. What is that style called? I want to find one i like so that i can find out who carries them.

perhaps i should just buy and r-15 then i wouldn't have to hunt one down. anyways thanks guys.

Something like a VTAC TRX handguard?

I'm not sure to be honest, I know an American chap that has one on his 9mm AR. It was the first thing that came to mind when I saw your thread. Hopefully somebody else will be more helpful!

Hmm thanks Pooker. I like a bare bones AR but i want a free float handguard, no front sight and no rails all over the place. It seem slike thats harder to find than I thought. Basically the R-15 is exactly what i want to build.

I know you can get KISS free float rails for precision rigs and such that are carbon fibre or aluminum.
There are some other selections that fit your criteria here: bravocompanyusa.com/Free-Floating-Tactical-Handguards-s/54.htm just to give you some other ideas.

Hiperform.com has some nice simple carbon fibre tubes. I am not sure if they ship here though. I really like that S&J one though. Is S&J a site sponser ?

ATI makes one too. Rails are add ons so you are just buying the basic tube. If I recall Epps has Carbine length for $72 and rifle for $123.

No idea on the quality. I know at least one guy has told me they don't fit straight so if you want to mount a BUIS on it, not the best idea. If you just want a free float hand guard though they might work. I am considering adding one to my Norc this winter.
