Dumping MN components in .303Br safe?

So take the weight of a load of 4895 say for each cartridge, compare the difference in weight as a percentage, compare that to the weight of the surplus charge as taken as average from several cartridges, then figure out the proper weight if that based on the earlier 4895 comparison then further reduce that by 10% as a starting point? Is that what you mean Steve? I'm going to try this as I can't wait anymore and I'm getting bored of shooting only my SVT. So the plonked rifles will get this load for now.

Hey, I would dump and weigh say 5-10 54r charges and then subtract 10% of the average overall charge as I know that 54r seems to hold around 10% more of any given powder.

I've done that for several obsolete cartridges that I can't find data for. It seems to work well and I've yet to have an issue.

Tried it at -6grs exactly today in my No4 Long Branch and No5 and both showed excellent results. Poi was drastically different as expected but groups were really good for a guess. I saw 2" group on first one I shot out of the No4.

Yup you bet 100m. I'm seeing similar results with the jump from 180gr to 220s I shoot in the .300 bore Rosses, the 180s shoot about a foot low and the slower heavier 220s shoot to poa.

Went shooting today using 40grs of the MNsurplus powder and the pulled bullets in my NoI mkIII* Enfield. The max range I could use was 50 yds.
I found no sign of pressure looking at the brass. The grouping of the 10 rounds was 2 inches diam.and 3 inches high .
Not so bad considering my bad vision .
