I have a TOZ-78 that currently has a very rudimentary tube scope on it. It is very light and thin, but has terrible optics. I would like to upgrade with a better scope, but one that is still light and not very large.

I placed a Bushnell .22 scope on my Ruger 10/22 ,and the scope is so big that my rifle looks like a rifle with a scope under it. For ease of carry, I would like my TOZ to have an unobtrusive scope. I do not need high magnification or anything fancy, as it will only be used at up to 50 yards.

What scopes are out there that are light, small (preferably thin and long to match the rifle) and very very durable? I do not need powerful optics, just something very secure and bump resistant that is unobtrusive.

Nikon 4 power

There is a fairly new model in a rimfire 4 power from Nikon that is a real fine scope, I think it retails for around $129.00. A great piece of glass for the price.FS

Do either one of these scopes fit the bill ?

The top one is a Weaver Classic shotgun scope, 4x32mm, 50 yard parallax, 9.5" (24cm) long, 1/4" click adjustments.
The bottom one is a Truglo 4x32mm Rimfire/Airgun scope, 50 yard parallax, 8" (20cm) long, 1/2 click adjustments.

I've spent a lot of time trying to find a light, durable, compact scope to suit the size of these rifles, and these are what I've settled on.
The Nikon 4x32 is a very nice scope at a good price, but at 11.2", it's still a little long for a smaller rifle. (imo)

If that scope is not very short, you'll likely have to mount it high, to clear the rear sight. I couldn't find rings that fit so I got a file and made a pair from a 3/8" one.

I used a cheap Ruko scope, a 4x, but I might upgrade it to a 6x, because the rifle is very accurate. I shot cans @200m
