Hi all - I recently purchased a 1931 hex Mosin and the barrel and metal components had an awful "arsenal refurb" bluing job covered with flaking shellac that just wouldn't do. I've spent a lot of time polishing and buffing and have the barrel and metals down to bare, and now I prefer the bare metal look!! It looks killer in the red stock with the contrast!
I see that DuraCoat makes a clear matte finish, was wondering if anyone had any experience redoing a gun and leaving the bare metal look and using this product to seal the metal? Any other products out there that are similar? Any issues or concerns? I'm all ears.
