Has any one here had experiences with Duracoat and Armacoat finishes?

I am looking at refinishing a couple of blued action rifles and would like to hear from peoples personal experiences/preferences.

Has anyone had problems with the finishes rubbing/scratching off.

I understand that Duracoat is baked on and Armacoat is not baked.

Any thoughts or info would be great.

Or is there another finish/finishes out there that you would recommend?

Thanks

Duracoat isn't baked on either, you're probably thinking Gun Kote.
There was a lengthy thread on here a while ago comparing these. There have been quite a few Duracoat converting to Armacoat, but I just placed my order for the Duracoat last week (Duracoat has a higher heat tollerance and I'm finishing a mean black-soon to be green-rifle).

I've used the armacoat, duracoat, and seen some stuff done in guncote. The amracote/duracote products are very similar, easy to work with and durable. Armacote is canadian made and a bit cheaper and would be my choice between these two. You can tell it's paint though when you are done, doesn't look like traditional metal finishes. Guncote requires baking, which really is no big deal, and I find gives a superior looking and resistant finish......but quite a bit more expensive. A big plus is it's cured in an hour, while the arma/dura stuff takes 3 weeks to fully cure.
Metal preperation is the key to a proper finish with any of these products. Sandblasting is a must, and parkerising helps even more.

Black Cat Powder Coating Ltd is the Canadian distributor for Duracoat, you can call them at 1-866-799-8822.
Murdoc (username here on CGN) is the Armacoat distributor, he answered all of my questions quite quickly when I asked.
