My mentor successfully converted a 1911 to a Tokie using a shortened and reduced OD 7.62 rifle barrel to fit the barrel bushing. Same idea on mag, trial and error until he got the right recoil spring.

Dracut in the can from Amazon - about 100 bucks. I did pistol and 2 AR hand guards with it. I've painted myself.

Out of curiosity did you have to open up the ejection port at all? Ive allways thought this would be a sweet conversion to do.
