I just moved to the Port Perry area and I don't think there is too much in the way of clubs accepting new members.
It seems to be that Burlington may be the only option (at least without a sponsor).
I'd be interested in visiting Barrie sometime and I wouldn't even mind buying a share for Sharon (on the waiting list I think...)
But if you are a member of a local club, proud of it's members and community, and wouldn't mind showing someone new around, I would be more than happy to take you up on that offer.
I'm just working with my new field dog, Dexter, a pudelpointer, and I would also be interested in meeting up with anyone who has anything to teach about field work. Most of my friends are big game, not upland or waterfowl - so it's been more difficult to make connections there.
I'm going to try and visit Burlington this weekend - since it's pretty much a straight shot across the 407.
Hopefully I might even get the opportunity to participate or sight-in
