My Granddad passed away in 1984. I just found out recently from my mother that he fought in WW1. Opa never talked much about the First or Second Great war except for one time when he talked about training with live ammo and one of his buddies got his bayonet shot off by a guy behind him at an angle. I never got the chance to ask him what rifle they carried. I'm sure the CGN nation can shed some more light on this as I might try to pick up a similar milsurp.

Holland was neutral in WWI.
Standard rifle was the 6.5mm M1895 Mannlicher and derivative carbines in that period.

Thanks green. Holland was neutral in WW1, but I am finding some references to the Limburg manoeuvre of August 1914. My Granddad lived in Maastricht in South Limburg within walking distance of the Belgian border and a short bicycle ride to Germany. Apparently the Germans "inadverdantly" entered into Dutch territory around the beginning of August 1914.

Quote from the Cold War. Towns in Europe are only 5 Megatons apart. ;)
