Dutch Students learn WW1 history by doing it.

Very interesting. Dutch kids re-enacting to be Australians (Holland was neutral in WWI). I would've thought they'd go with re-enacting the French or Belgians.

Anyone else notice that the rifles have no bolts in them? Maybe enfield airsoft rifles (if they're even made) would be a good addition for mock battle/target shoot.

"...the rifles were No. 4's..." Hollywood. Ya gotta use what ya got. Kind of odd the Dutch government teaches that considering Holland was neutral. Nothing like having a young Dutch girl in the trenches though. snicker.

"...The longer the class, the better!..." Yep. Do anything to get out of class. Just imagine digging a 10 foot deep hole with slopping sides, steps, etc in viscous mud near the end of November. Helps for the ambiance to have the weather as crappy as possible. Freezing rain would do. The tempratures should as low as possible too. Then be wearing boots that dissolved in water and uniforms that did so as well. And no Dutch girls. snicker.
