Hello kind folks, I'm wondering if you guys can tell me if there are any online stores with an inventory of milsurps for sale? I've posted on the WTB section of this forum but thus far got minimal results. I know only two online shops with a few WWI and WWII milsurps for sale, but seems like they haven't got anything new for months now. Can you guys please PM or email me gooddoomguy@gmail.com any suggestions? I've been wanting a few rifles and got money ready but had no sources... Any help would be highly appreciated, thank you for your time.

NaviDave and JTF, thank you for the suggestions. I've checked all three out, Marstar too, but didn't find what I was looking for.

gordonlbyrne, I'm looking for a Mauser Kar98k, Arisaka T99, a Berthier 07/15 and a SMLE No.1 MK III. The specs are in the WTB section.

Any help be deeply appreciated, thank you guys.

You will find many variants of the K98 on the EE quite easily.
The Arisaka and LE, not so much. There are many sporterized LEs but an original MkIII will be hard to find! Good luck!
Have you factored in the cost of ammo in your purchases, esp. for the T99?

PS. Have you been to Lever Arms in Van? They have mostly Russian/ Chinese stuff but a gem shows up once in a while.

Here's my take:

You've had your WTB up for all of four days, and you are extremely picky and no doubt want a bargain - anyone who might have happened to have one of those four rifles for sale would likely have just read it and moved along....

Hello Still alive! Yes I know WWI Enfields and T99s are hard to come by, but I got the funds and the time I guess, so I'd wait :) Cost of ammo, yes I have, I know they are pricey :( And I've checked out Lever Arms' website, they do have many 98ks, but all are RC, which I'm not a big fan of. Thanks for the lights up though sir :)

Takes longer then 4 days to get replies back esp if your being super picky. All they see is a new person, no feedback. Also I wouldnt try a solicate too much outside the EE. If the sources you got already don't have it not many other places would. All you can do is wait.. Use the Multi quote function. Its the icon that looks like " + bottom right hand corner of someone post . Much easier then copy and pasting the post. Click all the messages you want to quote and reply to. Then + reply to thread...

You're looking for the cream of the crop. Be ready to pay very dear for what you seek. Also, It will take quite a while to find something in the condition you are looking for.

Hey there Goodoomguy! Glad to see you posting here. Would you be willing to consider getting your feet wet first before jumping in at the deep end of this thing? Buy a cheap Lee Enfield and K98 and maybe a Mosin, to try out and get experience with Milsurps so that you know what you are looking at when you get ahold of the good stuff. Then sell the cheap ones for about the same as you paid.

I agree 100% with this assessment. This is not a criticism of the OP as he's just being clear about what he'd like; however, considering that he's looking for higher end collector versions of these rifles, I'd be inclined to think that anyone with one of these would be more interested in floating it out on the open market since they could command a premium. It's generally a seller's market for high condition milsurps.

I think the OP just has to keep looking and be patient and keep looking at all avenues. The prime condition milsurps that I have/had in my collection were never directly sought after, but purchased on the whim when they happened to appear on the market.

Considering this is your first foray into milsurps (you mentioned just getting your PAL), I wouldn't shoot for the sky to buy the "keep it forever" rifles right away. There have been several milsurps that I lusted after, but once I had them in my hands, they just didn't have the same appeal. In other words, you're collection interests will likely change over time, so best to get your feet wet with more readily available rifles to really sort out what you want --- that's also a good way to alleviate the impatience of waiting for the "right" gun.

I recommend you sharpen your Google search skills.

There is also gunbroker but with the exportation and the value of the Canadian dollars, it will be a bit costly.

Andy - Thank you for your input. Yes I am picky, because I thought the specs I listed for each rifle have a somewhat big surplus, guess I'm dead wrong. I however won't ask for a bargain, if the seller has his price listed I will take it as is. I did saw one really close to my liking in the WTS section. It's still there now, and I'd gladly take it for the $2000 he wanted for it if not for its cupped buttplate; I always find the flat buttplate more attractive. And I did not say four days is too much wait time for me, I'm only trying to find out if I've did anything wrong in my post, which I did as you all pointed out I was too picky. But I never said I wanted a result in a mere one or two days, I'm just hoping my post will go somewhere, anywhere even, and I wanted to know how to best find my dream rifles, that is all. Thank you for your input nonetheless.

antidote1985 - Thank you sir, I missed them, will wait for them to appear again if possible.

gordonlbyrne - Thanks, duly noted!

RobertMcC - Thank you again, for the helpful hint! Should I start by buying a few firearms to build up my trade ratings? Or is there other ways so sellers can take me seriously, like say, I list the budget I'm willing to spend for each rifle? And thanks for the lesson on multiple quotes!

Syphen - I see, guess that's why there were not results. So should I start with a Yugo or RC Kar98k? Or wait a while longer? I really need help here :(

EL34/6L6 - OK I will.

Robert Nicholson - You are absolutely right, I think people will take me more serious when I have a few milsurps in possession. Right now nobody seems to want to sell to me for some reason :( I thought it'd be easy, I didn't do my homework right, at all.

sgt_hebert - Hi, I thought it's illegal to import firearms to Canada? I will look into it these days. I heard Questar does importing, can they import milsurps too?

stickhunter - Thank you sir, for not judging me and pointing out my problems. I guess I will start with Yugo or RC Kar98ks, M91/30s, and mismatched rifles. Sigh, the reason I asked for the specific ones is because I always hope to have ONE of each rifle in my collection. Guess that's not so easy to do in real life. I will start there I guess, while waiting for my dream ones to eventually show up, and hope sellers can take me seriously by then. Sigh, and thank you sir.

I have also changed the specs of the rifles I wanted in the WTB section, thank you for your suggestions gents.

Well, it depends on your price range. A RC Mauser may run $400 to 600. A clean, numbers matching German 98k that is in the condition you're talking about will likely fetch well over $1000. You have to realize that there can be large price differences between a mismatched shooter and a collectors piece.

You have the right attitude GoodDoomguy, Milsurps are a difficult thing to do well at without experience. Go buy something at a local gun store
and have some fun first! By the way, nothing is more fun and easy to start with than a SKS!
