Looks like Girsan is making a very close copy of the last version on the Browning Hi-Power including the ambi safeties. Unfortunately, it still has the mag safety. Wonder if it will make it way up here.

Made with serious respect for the original Browning Hi-Power pistol design, EAA’s MC P35 pays homage to one of the most widely used military handguns in the world, with its classic styling. Built on a steel frame and slide in a black matte finish, the MC P35 boasts a 15+1 capacity in a staggered column magazine. Originally designed as a military pistol, the Hi-Power™ necessitated extreme accuracy and the Girsan MC P35 does not disappoint.

The short recoil 9mm, 4 5/8” barrel, along with the slide, allow for quick second shot resets, getting the shooter on target faster. The rear sight is a windage drift adjustable sight and the front is a dovetail sight. The traditional slim trigger allows for a short trigger reset and is accessible even while wearing gloves and the serrated ring hammer provides a positive grip while cocking. Enhanced external controls include external extractor, ambidextrous safety, and magazine disconnect safety.

Really good hi-power clone

Bought one, took it apart for a look see and as far as I can tell, it is just about identical with the MK 3 version of the original, down to the crappy trigger. The only way you can remove the magazine interlock is to remove the trigger assembly from the frame, kind of a pain. Shooting it was a pleasure, even with the interlock in place. It is easy to stage the trigger to release the interlock and at that point the break is clean. The reset is just ok, not wonderful. Accuracy was good but not outstanding. I didn't do any rapid fire drills. This is definitely not a ghetto piece.

Great to hear. I wanted a Hi-Power but didn't want to pay the high price for a Browning and didn't want the new model which is not true to the traditional hi-power. Saw 2 very positive reviews for the Girsan. Plus it looked great in black with the silver barrel. Looking forward to trying it out!

Thanks for the review! How hard was it to get the trigger pin out of the frame to remove the mag disconnect? Browning Mark III's ranged from difficult to almost impossible with the epoxy finish.

You don't have to remove the trigger to remove the mag safety, just drift out the pin in the trigger and the plunger/pad and spring are removed from inside the mag well. Related to the trigger safety and pull is that fact that a polished mag body (where the safety rides) makes the trigger much better though removing it does result in the best trigger operation.

My Girsan Hi-Power arrived a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had time to shot it yet but it is almost identical to my mkIII FN made Hi-Power. I bought it as a spare for the mkIII.

Took it to the range today. 100rds of 124gr ammo and no stoppages of any sort. Accuracy didn't seem as good as my mk3 but this will need a head to head comparison at a later date to be fair. I can say it was not grouping as well as the new p320 I was also trying out for the first time.
