EAL rifle

guess you could say today is a lucky enough day. hauling a car for a friend. he had the old enfield out to shoot at a coyotie. as soon as I saw the buttpad I knew what it was.

anyhow, this one is a bit diff in markings. on the side where it should have the .303 CAL then EAL and then serial number, this one has nothing/. where it should say 303CAL is the serial number, and that's it. everything else is perfect and correct, and its in fantastic shape. serial is 6565, and the bolt matches. this seems fairly high fairly late production from the ones I have seen before. it also has the stylized maple leaf on the barrel right infront of the receiver on the right side. all other parts are marked CA. it has a stamp on the underside of the stock in the wrist area I'm not farmiliar with aswell, it has the stylized maple leaf in it but cant make out the letters ontop and below it , its so tiny. is this all correct stuff for an EAL? haven't taken the stock off yet to look for lightening cuts. no other markings on the rifle other than the ones I have shown

The serial is on the high end of the military production. It would appear this one was assembled and marked by CAL. The stylized broadarrow on the wrist will have the word exam underneath it, and the inspectors letters on top.

Warren Wheatfield says that the rifles were assembled by essential agencies, but I have always suspected that CALs involvement was a lot more than providing parts. Your rifle is evidence of that. Nice find, I am jealous.

I'm reading and learning. this is what they call type" C" I think it all fits except for the no markings on the side

I moved the safety back for the pic to show no lettering behind it. a #4 enfield can have the safety on with the bolt cocked or not yes
