For those of you interested in German K98k Mausers and their secret evolution between wars, claven2 has just produced a brief, but terrific article, which discusses this transition. There's not a lot of clear information available about this timeframe and even Richard Law's book only discussed it in a brief few pages. I think claven2 has done a terrific job of bringing clarity to the sequence of development of these early Mausers. The article is posted under the Observations paragraph of our 1934 "Banner" Mauser example, which he discusses in his article.

1934 "Banner" Mauser (Mfg by MauserWerke AG, Oberndorf a/N) ....... (click here)http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?p=671992#post671992post671992

If you have any questions for him, post them in this thread....

Thanks Claven2 ....... :)

Claven2 - Recently I was sudying a listing for an extremely fine Mauser Banner rifle with DRP markings. The bid price was substantial. Had I not read your description of these very rare and significant rifles, I would have had no understanding of why this rifle was attracting the attention that it was receiving.

No problem :)... see, you don't HAVE to be a mod to try and make things better here for everyone... more people should try to contribute to the new info forum... HINT-HINT...
