Got a Simmons Whitetail trail cam for Christmas and figured I may as well begin assessing the deer population in my hunting area. So far after setting up on a half decent trail on Sunday and checking yesterday morning I've collected a couple pics of what appears to be a young buck. Definitely not the most heavily used trail in the area but only having one camera(for now)it's gonna stay there for at least the rest of the week.Looking forward to utilizing this device to it's full potential in my preseason scouting efforts. Also would love to hear of anyone's experiences with this particular camera.

Not the greatest pics but looks like the beginnings of a little rack

Not sure if this is the same deer

I put my camera out on Monday. Not a Simmons but I've got pics of 4 different deer a coyote turkey skunk coon cotton tail jack rabbit Beaver bout 40 pics of a Robin and 1 unidentified black and purple thing as of yesterday. All this is on the ditch bank at the back of the farm. I don't have a pc and my trail cam cards don't fit in my BB10 so I can't upload any

Ah too bad you can't post em here. Will probably move the camera to another more busy location. Since I'm on public land I've got to setup where I feel the deer or other huntables will pass by but would be thieves won't nab my camera. Gonna have a look on Sunday hopefully with some new pics.

I'm going to try the micro SD cards to see if they will work in my phone if they do n I get good pix I could email them to u. I've never been able to post pix here due to lack of a pc

For general scouting I always find a ditch bank and place the camera angled down and out along the flattest part such as a flood pain. This time of the year everything uses this cover until the crops get higher. I'm getting a lot of coyotes and deer on camera. Yotes have a solid pattern the deer not so much yet. I have a few lady friends that want to see some deer so once vacation time comes we can spend some time out back
