Have just broken these two guns out of storage and am looking for info and values to a collector (I expect). Are they $300 plus as per US queries??

The Winchester 1903 is a washed silver color and appears functional. I know the 22 win auto is extremely rare. Date from s/n puts mfg date at 1913

The Remington 22 pump action appears to be an early version, even before they barrel stamped as there is no caliber or modle stamp anywhere. s/n 251###. Pre model 12 "The new repeater" I strongly suspect. It would be just into good category. Is there a way to confirm model and a value?

Pics to follow.

any suggestions if this not the right place to post?

Hey Smirf,

The Remington would have been made in 1913 according to my small collection of DOMs. If you go to the Remington society site they have a forum there with the gurus to answer most any question you can come up with.
Straight grip, plain round barrel will be a 12A model. They started building them in 1909. Remington made the parts in bulk and assembled them at all different times so there may seem to be no rhyme or reason if your rifle seems to be slightly different to others of close serial range.

As to value if it is only good condition the value would be more around the two hundred dollar mark from past experience. Collectors are after the more minty pieces. Gunbroker, GunsAmerica and Auction Arms have lots of 12's there, and sure they have the high price tags on them but they have been there forever. I was watching the auctions of them very close for the last two years to get an idea what they would go for before buying one. Some of those guys must be trying to retire on their sales.
