Early remington MLR 338 Lapua rifles

Some of the early MLR's did have accuracy issues.
A few guys traced is back to bedding and magazine interference, others found significant roughness in the bore, a few guys re-cut the chamber and got great accuracy. Overall the barrel system was the major culprit.

The new rifles have a better 26" barrel and a new mag system and generally shoot like the should.

Compared to a Sako TRG or its competitors the MLR is a hell of a deal.
Add a match quality barrel, tweak the trigger, and it will shoot as least as well as the big name rifles...For a about 1/2 the cost.

Shot my new model Remington 700P in .338 on Saturday for the first time. I had three loads I had made up for it, minimum, maximum, and a reasonable middle ground. Was using 250 grain Hornady match bullets (thanks for the recommendation Mystic) with 78.2, 86.5, and 92.2 grains of H-1000. The medium load shot best, with the best group being about 1/2 Moa at 100. I see no problems with the rifle.

I will snap a photo tonight to get the exact grouping, but it sure is a fun rifle to shoot.

i have herd of lemon bbls in mlrs, got mine put in a mcmillan a5 shoots under 1/2 Moa to 1000m and 1.0 -1.25 moa to 1550m or so( havnt hit the MILE yet)..... FPS is what it lacks , has 1-10 twist for big 300s but not the length of burn (24" bbl) ..... for the price, the new ones are hard to beat...
My two cents...
